Jon Ruff, Senior Vice President of Spire Realty Group, LP, is responsible for the company’s global operations.  In this capacity he oversees acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, management, financing, development and strategic planning of the company’s $500 million real estate portfolio.  Ruff joined Spire Realty Group in 2000 as Assistant Vice President and has been a vital contributor as the company has grown.

A licensed real estate broker, Ruff has played a major role in Spire’s commitment to enhancing the urban environments in which they operate.  His accomplishments in this regard include Spire’s strategic acquisition, masterplanning, and development of twelve contiguous acres of land in downtown Dallas (the largest contiguous urban block of land in any major US market), their strategic acquisition and redevelopment of City Place in downtown Fort Worth (a four-block mixed-use redevelopment opportunity which is currently under construction), their acquisition of over  1 million square feet of urban Class-A office projects in the past 18 months, as well as the strategic repositioning of Bryan Tower, a 1 million square foot, Class-A, tower in Downtown Dallas.

Actively involved in Dallas affairs, Ruff is a member of The Real Estate Council, sits on the Downtown Dallas Inc. Board of Directors Executive Committee and on several related committees including Downtown Improvement District (D.I.D.), the Downtown Fort Worth Board of Directors, Dallas Momentum and multiple TIF boards.

In October 2011, Ruff was awarded the distinction of being recognized as one of Real Estate Forum’s 40 Under 40, a prestigious national honor and a credit to both Spire Realty Group, as well as his personal achievements and successes.

Jon was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  He attended Trinity University in San Antonio.  After graduation, Jon returned to Dallas to work in the commercial real estate industry.  He is married and has two young daughters.
